We at Monaro Muscle Parts have been involved with HK, HT & HG Holdens since these cars were brand new forty years ago. My father being a Panel Beater repaired these cars as an apprentice when they were new and throughout his years at the panel shop, eventually refurbishing our own Holden Monaros in later years.
He owned his first 'dream' Holden Monaro in 1982, when he purchased a low mileage Warwick Yellow/Parchment Trim HK Holden Monaro, this same car also began my desire of Holden Monaros. My father only ever bought Genuine Holden Parts for that Warwick Yellow Monaro. He believed that the factory engineered and tested each part to suit the individual application so it was the only place to buy parts to keep them running to its optimal best. I have always taken on this same mentality about using factory correct parts while many people were hotting up Monaros up with flared guards and incorrect parts.
After seeing my father own a string of Holden Monaros and other Holden HK, HT & HG models, in 1990, I was finally old enough to own and refurbish my own Holden Monaros, also including, yes a Warwick Yellow HK Holden Monaro. Forty cars later and here we are! It was all humble beginnings back then, with no monopoly on parts or prices. But back then we had all the original parts we needed in the garage. Over the years, parts have become harder to find and seeing the short falls in other suppliers, we saw a need in the marketplace for a specialist in concours restoration parts for the Holden Monaro market who know the cars intimately. After working for years in used spare parts sales, and later in a Major Parts Dealership, I acquired the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding of the parts industry.
So in our spare time, my father and I set out to buy as many rare and new old stock parts that we could for the Holden HK, HT & HG range. We spent a great deal of time buying NOS (New Old Stock), cleaning out old wreckers, sheds, parts stores, GMH Dealers and swap meets. That was over ten years ago, and now after it being a sideline operation for the first six years, over the last four years it has turned into a full time operation. As the supply of such rare parts started to dwindle, we saw a great need for high quality reproduction parts that was not being filled. So we have set out to remanufacture many rare items as close to original specifications as possible and by using as many traditional methods and tooling as we can.
